Film Synopsis:
After the unjust killings of George Floyd, Ahmed Arbery, and Breonna Taylor… a blind eye could no longer be turned to racism in America.
Award-winning producer, Angel N. Livas makes her debut as a film director with “The Enlightenment.” A passion project for her and the production team, who all volunteered their time and talents to manifest this documentary. Livas made a commitment to use her gift of storytelling to shed light on the racial disparities that exists between law enforcement and Black’s in America.
I AM BLACK captures the stories of nearly a dozen black men who openly share their experiences with law enforcement during the 21st century. Throughout the film the blatant disregard for human life creates a call to action for all cultures to take a stand in this fight. The Enlightenment is an attempt to educate and ultimately evolve our country to be a truely “United” States.
